The first ancient Greek Gods PLAYMOBIL were released at the end of 2016. In June 2018, after studies and with the valuable contribution of archaeologists and educators, the first collectible six of the twelve gods of Olympus will be completed. The creation of the collectible figures required long-term research and preparation, so that the result is as representative as possible, according to historical data.

Artemis was the twin sister of Apollo, she reigned in the mountains and forests, but was also a protector of young children and animals. Her favorite pastime was hunting, and in her adventures she was always accompanied by her Nymphs and hounds. Once Agamemnon, king of Mycenae and leader of the Greek campaign in Troy, killed a sacred deer of Artemis in Vravrona. The goddess became very angry and ordered the god of the winds, Aeolus, to stop all the winds in the port of Avlida, where she was waiting for the Greek fleet to sail for Troy. The oracle said that winds would blow only if Agamemnon sacrificed his daughter Iphigenia on the altar of Artemis. Agamemnon tricked his daughter into bringing her to the altar to be sacrificed, but at the last moment Artemis took pity on Iphigenia, snatched her from the altar, and led her to the distant land of the Bulls to serve as a priestess in her temple. This myth was also the inspiration for Euripides to write two of his most famous tragedies.
